Take 2 Image with a social concscience

Wednesday 20/4 I was watching the Hungry Beast on the ABC, where they made a very valid point. People often tell social networking sites like facebook all their personal information that they wouldn't tell a stranger. The cast on the hungry beast dressed up with notebooks and went around asking people on the street the questions listed on facebook. The first person they spoke to actually said that she wasn't going to tell them that. Another person who was answering their questions, was asked what he was doing right now and when he answered they pulled out a megaphone and repeated it. This made me realise that in schools they are telling the students to be careful but there isn't much of a focus on educating the adults about the dangers of posting too much information on the internet. So my full A4 size poster is aimed at university students and up. This age group has just as much cause to be wary on the net as these people have credit cards and credit card fraud is popular.
Meet Internet Man...

Introducing Internet Man

He's the newest creation for my social conscience poster.
He's called Internet Man.
He is a stick figure wearing spray painted cardboard on his arms and legs, with a grey or silver tshirt and shorts with an old laptop attached to his torso. He is so dedicated to the grey/silver look that he even spray painted his shoes. He didn't spray paint his face though, that is just long lasting face paint... or so he told me.
Internet Man was kind enough to let me use his image to promote better safety online and is starring in a cartoon about this.
He acknowledges that with so many users he can't keep a secret as people are always determined to find out sensitive information about others so they can commit fraud. This make Internet Man sad, as it can be hard to find out the culprits.
Another thing Internet Man hates is when people use facebook to befriend some one and find out where they live so they can harm another, as they can use him to find out where it is and even get directions.
To see the cartoon...

Whoo! Footy!!

Yes the footy is back and I am going tonight, unless something depressing happens like I am overloaded with homework due tomorrow since at the moment that isnt a problem so WHOO!! FOOTY!! Since this is a blog for IT lets talk IT, ok computer and iPad status updates. Computer slowly retreating into desperation. The screen is not getting any better but I dont think its any worse either and I am still waiting for my iPad. I am seriously missing it. I only had it for like 3mths and its already changed my life into an unfathomable world where I have to have it. Need to check my emails, on my iPad...hmm wait no cant do that since its still being sent for repairs. I am like ready to say screw you iPad, I'm gonna get the new iPad with a camera and not a hole where one is supposed to be. Apple keeps sending me these emails saying buy it and its slightly annoying and taunting since I dont even have my old one and they look oh so good with the different colours. Very cool and annoying since like I said I just bought mine over the christmas period when I was working hard and earned enough for 3/4 of an ipad a week. Ohh new app purchase that rocks my sox is Top Gear Wheres Stig?? Its so much fun the music annoys the hell outta me though. I think the game would be epic on my ipad though so impatiently waiting for that to come back so I can play it.

Assignment

This is alphabet is full of things I deem rubbish, either the literal sense of rubbish, like apple cores or left overs, or old technology deemed rubbish by today's new technology that is so often rubbish. The target audience is possibly future students doing a personal alphabet.

the upcoming assignment that's rubbish

Ok when I heard that the topic for this assignment was about rubbish I was like "yay, simple." Problem I have now is I don't know how to form an alphabet based on what I deem rubbish. I know what I deem rubbish, and Justin Bieber has top spot, but to form an alphabet based on this is hard as they are all random things.
At the moment I'm leaning towards doing just that, a random alphabet based on all things I deem rubbish, but I'll double check with the criteria before making a final decision at the moment, I'm attempting to download the week one lecture but its slow, and I'm blaming file size.
